WAPPP Webinar | Exploring Partnership: The Aspirations of Saudi Arabia Airport PPP market

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is on a strategic trajectory towards comprehensive infrastructure transformation in alignment with its Vision 2030, with airports being a pivotal component of this progress. The nation envisages a substantial increase in passenger capacity, aiming to serve 330 million passengers by 2030, a significant jump from the baseline traffic of approximately 100 million passengers in 2019.

To achieve such an ambitious airport development program, the kingdom of Saudi Arabia envisages to invite the private sector to collaborate with its public sector. Collaborative programmes with the private sector for airport development and management are not new to Saudi Arabia. With this track record, what lessons have been learned from past Public Private Partnership (PPP) projects? How will PPPs contribute to the future growth of Saudi airports? What will be the structure of future PPPs, and what are the forthcoming airport PPP initiatives?

To answer these questions, the Airport Chapter of the World Association of PPP Units and PPP Professionals (WAPPP), in collaboration with the Air Transport Management Programme of the University of Surrey (UK), is organizing a roundtable discussion webinar.
